Coveted Affiliation
Imagine being part of a small group of households with lifetime waterfront privileges. A nominal annual membership fee earns you the privilege of unlimited access to private Windermere Park & Beach Club, equipped with a beach staffed by lifeguards during the summer, an outsized play field, tennis courts, children's playground, kayak and canoe storage, and boat dock. Make use of the field or courts, usually without a wait, take a quiet solo walk or host a large party – the park is yours to enjoy as you wish.
Recreational Nirvana
Stroll to soccer or lacrosse practice in historic 350-acre Warren G. Magnuson Park, explore its four miles of walking trails through wetlands and habitats, fly a kite, or treat your canine friend to one of Seattle’s best off-leash dog parks. A walking path connects Magnuson Park to the Burke-Gilman Trail, Seattle’s 27-mile multi-use paved rail trail beloved by walkers, joggers and cyclists. For the more adventurous, a class at The Mountaineers Club will train you for your first ascent.
Village Amenities
Less than a mile down the boulevard, Sand Point Village satisfies your everyday household needs with a pharmacy, a hardware store and nursery, while neighboring Metropolitan Market and PCC Community Market supply a cornucopia of locally-sourced, organic groceries with deli, sushi bar and fresh-baked breads. A short drive away the open-air shopping center University Village mixes high-street stores with independent boutiques and casual eateries galore – including an outpost of famous Taiwanese dumpling house Din Tai Fung. Reservations always recommended! For fine dining try Salare on 65th Avenue NE in nearby Ravenna, helmed by adventurous James Beard Award-winning chef Edouardo Jordan. Continue west on 65th to sample Southern food at Junebaby and global-inflected fare at Lucinda Grain Bar, Salare’s sister restaurants – or to hop on Link Light Rail at Roosevelt Station, opening in 2021, for a speedy 45-minute ride to SeaTac Airport.
